    Welcome to NorMet

As a hospital association, we are honored to represent the interests and viewpoints of our member hospitals and support them in their mission of providing excellent and compassionate patient care. Our 27 member hospitals and numerous associate members are located in the seven county Hudson Valley region just north of New York City.

Our members are as diverse as the communities they serve, representing specialty hospitals, community hospitals and trauma centers; small critical access hospitals a large teaching institution; and urban, suburban and rural hospitals.

NorMet is a collective voice for these hospitals. We advocate at the state & federal level on behalf of our members regarding issues common to all healthcare institutions as well as those unique to the Hudson Valley.

Our efforts are directed toward three main focus areas:

    • Quality of Care
    • Advocacy
    • Emergency Preparedness

We hope you enjoy visiting our website and learning more about NorMet and our members.

Suburban Hospital Alliance of NYS LLC

Suburban Hospital Alliance of New York State, LLC.

The Suburban Hospital Alliance of New York State, LLC, was informally founded in 2006 by the Northern Metropolitan Hospital Association (NorMet) and the Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council (NSHC), NorMet’s sister association. In 2012, these two organizations officially formed the Suburban Alliance. NSHC represents hospitals on Long Island. The Suburban Alliance ensures that the specific concerns of suburban hospitals from the Hudson Valley region and from the Long Island region are heard in Albany and Washington. Kevin Dahill is president of the Suburban Alliance.
